Still Learning my embroidery machine
Well, I am getting better at making mistakes on the Babylock. Just when I think I am getting good.......bam! It happens again. Yesterday, I finished the 6 aprons I made for the auction at the family reunion. They all turned out perfect. So I thought I would make my son, Charlie, a towel for his golf bag. It was perfect too!! Except I sewed it on the wrong side :(. Then Sissy brought a denium shirt over for me to puts some ladybugs and her name on it.......I used too small a hoop, and too big a design, needle fell out......but it still was readable. I guess all these things happen so I can learn......and boy, am I doing that.

My first embroidery job......
This is a copy of the email I sent to Cyndy last night, it sums up everything.........
Lynda came by picked me up, we went to Hancocks......lady showed me the right kind of stableizer (medium weight), the box was bent, i put it back and got another one. When I got home I had picked up the dang lightweight one. Too late, Lynda needed the shirt and skirt tomorrow. So I proceeded to test on an old knit shirt of mine. Got done and discovered it was my good 4th of July shirt I had put in the back of the closet at the end of 4th week end last year. It now has Dixie in big blue letters on the front of it, right under USA. Any way it seemed like the stablelizer worked so I proceeded on Reagan's little tee shirt. When the machine finished, it was perfect, except I had hit a j instead of an i....so it said "Djxie, but it was centered good.
Then I started on the skirt. It wasn't just a skirt, had shorts built into it. It took me a good 30 minutes to hoop it and fit it onto the sewing machine. I was really sweating by this time. But I made it. All the time I kept thinking, Cyndy said I could do this. Well, after the machine finished the skirt, I took it off the hoop and it crinkled up really bad. I stretched it over and over but it kept drawing up. Then Lynda came over to pick them up, I told her I was sorry. Tomorrow, I will go and get Reagan another shirt and skirt and take them to The Monogramer, which I should have done in the first place.
Anyway, thanks for believing in me........and for your help. I am a hopeless cause.
Love and hugs,
Jeri
